THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Disturbing video of political intimidation

Our freedom is under attack. If you believe that our Constitutional rights are sacred, please view the disturbing video linked below.

On Thursday, July 8th the Republican Party of Miami Dade County, chaired by my opponent, State Representative David Rivera, held an open candidate forum where nearly two dozen Republican candidates were allowed to speak for two minutes each. I used my time to highlight how David Rivera is abusing his position as Party Chairman while running against fellow Republicans, and respectfully asked him to resign for the good of the Party.

This video clearly shows David Rivera’s hand-picked Republican Party Executive Director, JC Hernandez, angrily ordering a West Miami police officer to take me out of the forum as I finished my talk, which they did a few minutes later. Their reason? That I went over my time limit by a few seconds! An outrageous excuse, especially since many of the prior speakers had gone well over their limit. The fact is I was singled out for intimidation by David Rivera’s panicked party officials in order to send a message: “Don’t challenge the machine!”

My family came to America fleeing political persecution. As an officer in the US Marine Corps I swore to support and defend The Constitution of the United States, and did so for 12 years worldwide. And I am doing it now. As your Congressman I will never allow anyone to infringe on our fundamental Constitutional rights.

If you are as outraged and disgusted as I am by what happened, then please make a donation to help me fight the machine.
