Just a few minutes ago, the House of Representatives passed the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act by a vote of 234 to 190.
This commonsense, responsible approach to debt reduction shows how dedicated conservatives in Congress can tackle Washington’s spending binge. They rejected job-destroying tax hikes to reduce the deficit, and so do we.
By passing this plan, Congressional conservatives demonstrated they are the only lawmakers in Washington that are seriously committed to saving the American dream for our children and grandchildren.
It is now up to the Senate to pass Cut, Cap and Balance and then demand action from the White House. The time for vague descriptions and kick-the-can proposals is over. The Senate and White House must step up to the plate and do what is right for this country.
