Panthers – 1 : Collier County Taxpayers – 0. Collier County Commissioners voted 4 – 1 to pay $1.9 million to Barron Collier Cos. for the panther habitat credits used to speed up building of Oil Well Road that was originally planned to be the gateway to Jackson Laboratory. It is funny how the government can align with Ave Maria Development LLLP and Barron Collier Cos. to use the panthers to fund their deals with taxpayer funds. Commissioner Hiller was the sole conservative who voted against the motion.
The article does not mention the Collier County Clerk of Court, Dwight Brock, position yet. He releases the funds.
