Resignation of the President of Ave Maria University? – Introduction

Consistently, societal and political forces attack the family and private property in the United States. At Ave Maria, Florida, the marketing of Project Peet (Jackson Laboratory project) is the current focus of public attention. The hypothesis is that there is another attack on the family and private property with the potential development of Project Peet. Here the problem is poor leadership, poor judgment, and no accountability. This argument wills to begin on defining Ave Maria – its organizational structure. For the benefit of keeping this introduction concise, a first part of this thesis will address that organizational definition. Ave Maria, Florida, is the most realistic and strangest conglomeration of unrealistic entities in Florida. Perhaps that is the accidental problem of leadership but not the cause of the problem. As most good educational institutions would teach, the societal and political forces can change to show the real needs of the family and private property, however this can only be accomplished by good leadership and presentation. At Ave Maria, Florida, there are no nonconforming leaders, but there are a few leadership offices on which to focus. One is the office of the President of Ave Maria University. For now one would expect that a leader must lead, present, and solve. “Does the President lead?” The corollary question is, “Does the President answer to the attack on the family and private property?” These two open-ended questions call for the possible resignation of the President of Ave Maria University because the answers to both are leading to “no.” An independent-thinking President with outstanding credentials could lead more wisely and replace President Nicholas J. Healy.
